Geeta Arya is an Indian contemporary artist.

Her work explores moments of pause

when ordinary life reveals itself

as a sanctuary,

as threshold moments,

as moments of inner stillness.

She works with several media including acrylics, watercolours, oils, soft pastels, sculptures, and digital media. Her work emerges from lived experience and attention.

A patch of afternoon light, shadows moving across a wall, a quiet street, a corporate waiting area held by stillness, leaves moving in the wind, or a landscape encountered at just the right moment often become the starting points for her work.

Her ongoing body of work, Luminous Sanctuaries, draws from years of observing how light, atmosphere, and presence shape experience.

Rather than depicting specific places, these paintings explore the feeling of inhabiting a moment fully—when time seems to slow, the ordinary becomes luminous, and familiar spaces reveal unexpected depth.

Through landscapes, interiors, and contemplative spaces, Geeta invites viewers into moments of reflection, quiet attention, and sensory presence; evoking a state of being, a felt experience.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Geeta Arya worked as an engineer and management professional. Alongside her studio practice, she has shared her knowledge of art with students of all ages across the world since 1998.

Today, her practice is centered on creating original works that explore stillness, perception, and the quiet ways in which beauty appears in everyday experience.

She lives and works in Bangalore, India.
